BACKGROUND
Located in the heart of the Central Otago wine region and just a 20-minute drive north from Queenstown airport, Gibbston Valley Lodge & Spa offers luxury accommodation, 5-star personal service, an on-site restaurant and a spa. The 24 private villas feature views over the organic vineyards and the mountains of Gibbston. Opening in mid 2019, the property caters for a range of high-end experiences for business travelers, tourists, and anyone looking for a luxurious experience or getaway. One of our account managers Jim Boakes was passing through the area late 2018 and noticed some timber structures being put up beyond the vineyard. He called and spoke to the owners who informed him they were building a new luxury accommodation and had Vendella on their list of suppliers to contact for the luxury bedding they required for the property.
THE PROJECT
Jim worked alongside the owners to put together a package including comfortable bedding with a sustainable story; pillows, duvets, and mattress toppers all filled with microfiber made from recycled plastic bottles. Gibbston Valley run their own purpose-built, fully operational laundry so required commercial sheeting and towelling that is built for the rigors of the guest market. Weavers sheeting and towelling was the obvious solution for the Gibbston team.
