BACKGROUND
Located on the iconic Willis Street in Wellington, 222 Willis offers spacious student accommodation, and a great central location for tertiary students studying in and around the CBD. The complex comprises of 6 floors with 280 beds, configured into a mix of studio, two bedroom, and four bedroom apartments. All have been tastefully and comfortably appointed, and fully furnished for the students.
THE PROJECT
222 Willis is a self-catered hall that has been used by both Massey University & Victoria University in the past. Vendella had the opportunity to supply this hall with prepacked room kits which included; kitchenware, cleaning items, appliances, bedding, and mattress protection. These items were packed into kits by the team at Vendella, and allocated to the various rooms at the University, for example Studio kits etc.
PROBLEMS WE SOLVED / REASONS FOR PARTNERING WITH VENDELLA
The reason for partnering with Vendella, was because we had a good value of fit-for-purpose kitchenware. We had the ability to pack the items into kits that could go straight into the rooms. This saved the building manager and staff having to allocate all of the individual items to each room. We were also able to meet their tight budgets, and were able to deliver the goods within short notice over the Christmas/New Year period was a big advantage to the managers.
