Background.

Lincoln University provides a diverse range of living options to suit different needs, lifestyles, and budgets. Students can choose from seven Halls of Residence—each with its own unique character—offering a fully catered experience with all meals provided. For those seeking more independence, the university also offers modern, self-catered flats and a limited number of campus houses. All accommodations are either situated on campus or within a short walking distance, ensuring easy access to lecture theatres, support services, recreational facilities, and the Lincoln township.

Accommodation is managed by the university’s dedicated Accommodation Services team, who provide ongoing support to residents throughout the year. From helping students settle in to offering pastoral care and organising social activities, the team plays a key role in creating a welcoming, inclusive, and well-managed living environment.

The Project.

Belinda Hawley, Team Leader of Accommodation Services, attended the Asia-Pacific Student Accommodation Association (APSAA) conference, where she met Jason Walton, a delegate representing Vendella. This initial meeting provided an excellent opportunity for the University to gain insight into Vendella’s product offerings and company values, particularly in relation to the student accommodation sector.

Following in-depth discussions about key products such as mattresses and student flatting packs, it quickly became clear that Vendella’s solutions aligned well with the University’s needs. As a result of this collaboration, Vendella has since become the University’s primary supplier for student accommodation essentials, playing a pivotal role in improving the quality and consistency of housing provisions across campus.

Lincoln University also appreciated the sustainable aspect of our products, as Rachel says “As an agricultural university, sustainability is really important to us. And every time we buy a mattress or any product, we get told how sustainable we’ve been with the recycling of bottles going into most mattresses. It’s something we are really proud of.”

Lincoln University love the way they can use our website to streamline their purchasing, as Rachel says “The website’s really easy to use. We have our own account set up and from that we have our favourite saved items. And so you can just log in. You can order what you want based off your favourites or you can search for new things. You just set up a purchase order and from there you just send it away and delivery comes within one to two days. It’s really quick and really efficient.”
