BACKGROUND
The two Anzac class frigates, HMNZS Te Kaha and HMNZS Te Mana are the main purpose-built combat-capable ships of the Royal Navy, and play a vital role in protecting New Zealand, its exports, maritime resources, and those of our allies. Vendella was given the opportunity when contacted by the New Zealand Defence Force to provide specific items for ships across their fleet, including specialty items not commonly stocked by Vendella.
THE PROJECT
The New Zealand Defence Force partnered with Vendella to source specialty fabrics to suit strict maritime specifications for their vessels sleeping quarters. Customised curtaining and bedcovers were designed, and have been supplied to the New Zealand Defence Force for their ships over many years now. We also provided the New Zealand Defence Force with a range of fit for purpose quilts, pillows, mattress protectors and pillow protectors.
PROBLEMS WE SOLVED / REASONS FOR PARTNERING WITH VENDELLA
The New Zealand Defence Force needed a supplier who was able to source special fabrics and specialty customized products ongoing, which is where Vendella was able to assist. It was important to the New Zealand Defence Force that we made it easy for them all along the way of the process.
