Background.

The Memorial Hut is a alpine hut nestled in the heart of the wilderness on Mount Ruapehu, serving as a hub for outdoor education and connection with nature. Originally gifted by the Auckland Tramping Club, the hut is now held in trust by the Central Plateau Schools Alpine Trust (CPSAT). This trust is made up from four schools from the Taupo district, reflecting a shared commitment to fostering environmental education and community collaboration. It welcomes schools and various educational and training groups to use the facility for Education Outside the Classroom (EOTC) activities. This enables students and educators to immerse themselves in hands-on learning experiences amidst a stunning natural setting.

The Project.

The CPSAT Trust was in the process of replacing the existing mattresses at Memorial Hut and sought a solution that was not only durable and comfortable but also waterproof without being noisy to sleep on.
